MUNDUS ACP II A partnership of 20 Higher Education Institutions from the European Union and the ACP Countries

Who can apply?

3rd Cohort (opened until 15th December 2013)

The MUNDUS ACP II Project foresees individual mobility flows to:

  1. Students (Master and Doctorate) of the ACP Countries willing to develop their studies and research in one of the European Partner Universities:
     
    • Master (mobility) students must be enrolled in the 1st year of a 2 year Master programme at one of the ACP Countries partner/associate institutions (Target Group I and II applicants only).
      Eligibility criteria »

      ACP Countries applicants » Master (mobility) (6 to 10 months)

      In order to be eligible for a MUNDUS ACP II scholarship:

      • Must be nationals of one of the ACP Countries;
         
      • Must have not lived, nor developed their main activity (study, work, etc.), over more than 12 months, in the last 5 years, in one of the European countries;
         
      • Must have not benefited in the past from an Erasmus Mundus scholarship for the same type of mobility;
         
      • Must have sufficient knowledge of the language of the courses or of one of the languages currently spoken in the hosting countries;
         
      • Must identify their Target Group:
         
        • Target Group I applicants » applicants who have obtained a university degree or equivalent from an ACP partner institution and who are currently enrolled and have the support of one of the partner institutions of the ACP Countries;
           
        • Target Group II applicants » applicants who have obtained a university degree or equivalent from an ACP institution (partner or non-partner) but are not currently enrolled or applicants who have a formal link with non-partner institutions of the third-countries from the eligible list of countries at the time of submitting their application;

      It is noteworthy to mention that in addition to these criteria there may be other defined internally by each partner institution of the project, so it is strongly recommended that the applicants prepare their application with the contact person of their institution, getting information about the specific eligibility criteria established either in their home institution (if applicable) or in the Host Institution which they intend to apply to.

    • Doctorate students will undertake a mobility period in Europe, in one of the partner institutions of the project, under the doctoral programme in which they are enrolled in their home countries (ACP), with the duration of 10 months (this mobility period must be fully recognized by the partner ACP Institution).

      In order to be eligible for a MUNDUS ACP II scholarship:

      • Must be nationals of one of the ACP Countries;
         
      • Must have not lived, nor developed their main activity (study, work, etc.), over more than 12 months, in the last 5 years, in one of the European countries;
         
      • Must have not benefited in the past from an Erasmus Mundus scholarship for the same type of mobility;

  2. Academic and Administrative Staff mobility from Europe who wish to develop their activity in one of the ACP Countries’ Partner Universities.
     
    • The Academic and Administrative Staff will develop, in the ACP Countries, in a partner institution of the Project, activities for the exchange of knowledge, skills and experiences with the duration of 1 month of effective work.
      Eligibility criteria »

      European applicants » Academic and Administrative staff (mobility) (1 month)

      In order to be eligible for a MUNDUS ACP II scholarship:

      • Must be nationals of one of the eligible European countries;
         
      • Must have not benefited in the past from an Erasmus Mundus scholarship for the same type of mobility;
         
      • Must have sufficient knowledge of the language of training or of one of the languages currently spoken in the hosting countries;
         
      • Must work as a full time staff with one of the European partner institutions;
         


      ACP Countries applicants » Academic and Administrative staff (mobility) (1 month)

      In order to be eligible for a MUNDUS ACP II scholarship:

      • Must be nationals of one of the ACP Countries;
         
      • Must have not lived, nor developed their main activity (study, work, etc.), over more than 12 months, in the last 5 years, in one of the European countries;
         
      • Must have not benefited in the past from an Erasmus Mundus scholarship for the same type of mobility;

      • Must be currently working (full time) in a partner institution of the ACP Countries (Target Group I applicants only).

IMPORTANT: The Project’s mobility scheme determines that the ACP Countries’ candidates may only apply to European partner institutions and that the European candidates can only apply to ACP Countries’ partner institutions. The main objective of this mobility flow scheme is to reinforce regional cooperation between the Higher Education Institutions of the ACP region and the EU.

For the 2nd Cohort only students fully registered in an ACP partner institution are eligible to apply. As for Staff mobility, only Academic and Administrative Staff from an EU partner are eligible for application.

2nd Cohort (opened until October 2012)

The MUNDUS ACP II Project foresees individual mobility flows to:

  1. Students (Master and Doctorate) of the ACP Countries willing to develop their studies and research in one of the European Partner Universities:
     
    • Full Master students will carry out their studies in Europe, in a partner institution of the Project, in a related field with the previous training received in a partner institution, with the duration of 12 months with the purpose of undertaking their full training at the host institution and the issue of the corresponding Diploma).

      ACP Countries applicants » Full Master (12 months)

      In order to be eligible for a MUNDUS ACP II scholarship:

      • Must be nationals of one of the ACP Countries;
         
      • Must have not lived, nor developed their main activity (study, work, etc.), over more than 12 months, in the last 5 years, in one of the European countries;
         
      • Must have not benefited in the past from an Erasmus Mundus scholarship for the same type of mobility;
         
      • Must have sufficient knowledge of the language of the courses or of one of the languages currently spoken in the hosting countries;
         
      • Must be eligible to undertake a Masters Degree at a partner European Institution (applicants must have already completed their Bachelor's course and be enrolled in an ACP University on the moment of submitting the application);
         
      • Must identify their Target Group:
         
        • Target Group I applicants » applicants who have obtained a university degree or equivalent from an ACP partner institution and who are currently enrolled and have the support of one of the partner institutions of the ACP Countries.

      • Must have sufficient knowledge of the language of the courses or of one of the languages currently spoken in the hosting countries;
